What Is Luxury Vinyl Flooring?

Gold Star Carpet One in Denison has you, and your home, covered with one of the area's best selections of luxury vinyl flooring. What exactly is luxury vinyl? Luxury vinyl is an ultra-durable, yet equally-stylish, alternative to hardwood, laminate, and tile. It has a special layered construction, so it can handle spills, stains, scratches, and virtually anything else life has to offer.

The top layer, which is referred to as the wear layer, features wear resistant technologies, so it will resist scratches and scuffs without any special treatments. This wear layer protects the decorative layer, which includes a high-definition wood or stone visual. With this decorative layer, luxury vinyl flooring is virtually indistinguishable from real wood and stone.

In addition, luxury vinyl flooring has core layers and other support layers that provide the vinyl planks and tiles with premium dimensional stability. Luxury vinyl planks and tiles will never crap or collapse, nor will they ever swell under moist conditions. In fact, many luxury vinyl floors have strong waterproof cores, so they are considered 100% waterproof!

For authentic wood looks, be sure to choose vinyl plank flooring, but for stone and tile looks, vinyl tile flooring is a better option.
